Russia warns U.S., “Don’t strike Assad”

I have for several years followed the website ‘Sott.net‘ , ‘Signs of the Times’. A publisher of articles of significance by authors capable of understanding reality and presenting compelling truths. Thereby providing a desperately needed balance to the propaganda of the mainstream media which brainwashes the public with lies and misinformation.

Probably the most important current political/military situation exists in Syria, where, for reasons made clear in this post, the potential trigger for a catastrophic war clearly exists.

The article, by Tyler Durden, Zero Hedge,  is linked here, and substantively presented below.

What? We’re bombing your terrorists, you say?”

As we reported yesterday, over 50 US State Department officials are now calling for “targeted military strikes” directly against Assad’s Syrian government as a means to defeat ISIS.

The irony of course is that we’ve now come full circle. The US created ISIS in hopes of toppling Assad, and now that the ISIS strategy is losing momentum (due in large part to Russia’ relentless pounding of the group), the US now wants to just fast forward to the end game, which is to take out Assad directly (using ISIS as a reason of course).

What has also emerged is that Saudi Arabia has now grown impatient with the fact that Assad is still in power, and have started to press the US to provide more sophisticated weapons to the rebels. Saudi foreign minister Adel al Jubeir who is visiting the US just confirmed as much yesterday when he said that “Saudi Arabia supports a more aggressive military approach in Syria to get Assad to agree to a political solution.

In response to calls to take this approach, the Obama administration has expressed concern that attacking the Assad regime could lead to a direct conflict with Russia and Iran, which of course is a rational way to view the situation because Russia has been steadfast in its support of Assad’s government, or at least not allowing the US to take it out.

Speaking to Russia’s top economic forum, Putin proposed that the Syrian opposition could be offered seats in the Syrian cabinet as part of efforts to encourage dialogue that could lead to new elections being held in Syria. Putin said that creating a new government that will have the trust of most of Syria’s population is key to ending the conflict, and that goal can be achieved through drafting a new constitution and holding new elections, something Assad pledged to Putin would happen.

In a sound bite that Putin absolutely must have known would get back to the Obama administration, Putin reportedly said “There is nothing more democratic than elections” – clearly a jab at the US and its hypocrisy of wanting to simply take out Assad militarily as opposed to working with Russia to force Syria holding new elections.

On Friday, Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov strongly warned Washington against striking Assad’s forces, saying it would “fuel turmoil across the entire region”, and that any attempt to topple Assad’s government “wouldn’t help a successful fight against terrorism and could plunge the region into total chaos.”

Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said that the calls for a military action against Assad “can’t but worry any reasonable person”, adding “who would bear responsibility for that? Or shall we see the same Hollywood-style smile as it happened already in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya?

* * *

Of course Konashenkov is right, the US has made a complete mess out of the Middle East and it appears as though Russia is not going to allow yet another debacle to take place in Syria. The question is this, will the US fold and pander to its Saudi “friends” who are pushing to have Assad out, or will the fact that toppling Assad will lead to a direct conflict with Russia be enough to have the US stand down? If all of the recent activity taking place on Russia’s borders is any indication, we can get a good sense as to which way the US is leaning.

Read the source article with its additional commentary and information here. Learn how serious this issue is and consider all its ramifications – who are the “goodies” and who are the “baddies”?; who are the liars and troublemakers?; what credibility does the mainstream media possess?; from where does the incentive come, for the US to carry out regime change support and terrorism?; why is the Syrian situation considered serious enough, (by the instigators), to risk a horrific global conflict?; where on earth does this never-ending warfare fit into place in a truly civilized world?; why does the general public accept being brainwashed enough to support this tragic human behaviour?.

I’ve been watching this from the get-go and am thoroughly disgusted by US interventionist policy.
When I’ve slipped into anti-Assad posts on various websites I’ve asked, “What has Bashir done?” and no one can tell me! His father may have ruled with an iron fist, and in my humble opinion from what I’ve seen they need to be ruled that way, but Bashir has never done anything except be friendly with governments the US (aka Saudi’s Sycophants – Bush did hold hands with and kiss the king and BO did bow to him) deemed ‘enemies’.
Then again, BO did promise to ‘fundamentally transform’ America and TPTB’s plan to bring the US to its knees and final destruction seems to be right on schedule because no country can survive being constantly at war.
(I have so many thoughts running through my mind right now it would take pages and pages to fit them all down.)
But the one thing I want noted especially, is that both Syria and Iran do NOT have Rothschild controlled central banks and beyond all the facades – ‘enemy governments’/’oil pipelines’/terrorists’ – that one glaring fact will always cause trouble for those two countries until/unless so-called ‘sovereign’ nations (what a joke) like Australia, like the US, like GB, even Russia throw off the Rothschild chains.

    • Exactly, the central banks are the central thing, the means to controlling each country – financially, politically.
The ‘motor’ of the NWO, controlling through the UN, if not, the US enforcer provides the muscle.

  4. ” According to General Pavel, NATO is not contemplating any further troop build-up in Eastern Europe beyond what’s already been done, and as Reuters reports, Pavel claims that the build-up was just in hopes of discouraging Russia from orchestrating the kind of campaign it used to annex the Crimea peninsula. However what Pavel said next is most interesting:

“Deployment of substantial military force is not being considered. It is not the aim of NATO to create a military barrier against broad-scale Russian aggression, because such aggression is not on the agenda and no intelligence assessment suggests such a thing.”

Well that’s quite a statement, because the actions of the US and NATO have completely contradicted that assessment. If Pavel is correct, and there is no actual intelligence that suggests any aggression is being planned by Russia, then either the US is trying to provoke the country into action on purpose, which is always a possibility, or another possibility is one that we pointed out last week, and that is the Saudi’s are pressuring the US to get rid of Assad. If the US accommodates that request from its good friend Saudi Arabia, then a direct conflict with Russia would be imminent, as Russia has made it very clear that the US isn’t to take Assad out militarily. If the US knows it is going to go ahead and topple Assad at the behest of the Saudi’s, then it would make sense to have an already established force surrounding Russia’s border to deter any immediate action. ”

  7. Time To Rethink NATO – http://antiwar.com/blog/2016/07/08/time-to-rethink-nato/

One can only wonder how, 25 years after the end of the Cold War, we find ourselves rattling our sabers, nuclear and conventional, in this untenable dilemma. Surely President Eisenhower’s prescient warning way back in 1961 that “we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex” is a potent warning for today, more than half a century later. The time has come to spread the word about the dangerous mischief NATO is causing on Russia’s border. With the recent breakup of the old paradigm after the UK just left the European Union, there may be a new opening for change. It has been reported that Germany and France have been talking about ending the sanctions on Russia imposed after the Ukraine events and are now recommending a less aggressive posture for NATO. America too, could do its share to make good on the UN promise to “end the scourge of war” by ratcheting down the hostilities towards Russia and working for the abolition of NATO. You don’t have to be a Donald Trump supporter to recognize that it is time to rethink NATO.

  8. The United States Military Is Now Officially Controlled By The United Nations And NATO
    http://thetruthnews.info/US_Military_Is_Now_Officially_Controlled_By_The_UN_And_NATO.html

“The Legislative Branch Of The United States Government Has Been Officialy Declared Powerless, If this isn’t a coup d’état i don’t know what is!!!

WASHINGTON, March 7—Under question from Sen. Sessions at a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing today, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey indicated that “international permission,” rather than Congressional approval, provided a ‘legal basis’ for military action by the United States. “
