  1. Stanford should work harder policing themselves, instead of fighting for their reputation in court. As a fact, being a researcher at Stanford doesn’t seem to be an indication for being the among the best researchers. Here is another story exemplifying some research integrity issues in the academia and Stanford:

    • Thanks. Have tried to keep the PW off my post.
      A few factors are involved.
“Environmental Progress weighed in on this controversy when Clack et al. published their article. In our view, it’s clear that Jacobson made a false assumption about the possibility of expanding U.S. hydroelectricity.”
The Prof. refuses to accept his peers’ criticism, even though the criticism appears just.
To elect to sue in court is a strange response, as he can not reasonably expect to win, unless the law system is corrupt, or inept. Not entirely impossible it seems from past examples.
As mentioned by a respected scientist, “Mannian litigation gone wild. — Steve McIntyre””, this is not an isolated case. A sort of manic state of mind is seen in some alarmists who are on the back-foot defending their unsupportable science.
Then there is the power of money!
Both scientists and Universities rely extensively on outside funding. It is increasingly obvious that honest science and honest administration are both becoming contaminated by financial influences.
The “climate change” movement is a serious political agenda powered by unscrupulous persons and virtually unlimited money and influence. End result – media propaganda brainwashes gullible public and influence controls politicians.
      Appreciate your comments.
