HAPPY NEW (Calendar) YEAR! From ‘The Golden Rule’

It being 01.01.2012, I am moved to say something to mark the occasion.

At this stage there is no preconceived theme but something might arise from the depths.

What has gone before?  Firstly, 2011 has come and gone in a virtual flash.

Main highlights have been mainly family related – the birth of our 12th grandchild Ruby, one daughter moving into a new house in the country, another buying an existing country house. This has meant increased time and obligations away from my city base of Melbourne (Australia), giving me much pleasure. Escaping the rush, traffic, noise and the fast disappearing space and greenery is a bonus to my lifestyle.

Certainly, another highlight has been the creation of this website. Initially the actual formation, choosing a visual theme and title, formatting the presentation and watching it all come to ‘life’ in itself was rewarding. Then the opportunity to have a say in a published format. There have been many reader views and responses, which is gratifying. But even just getting stuff ‘off my chest’ works in a therapeutic manner and creates an expansion in my thought processing and life in general.

A large amount of satisfaction arises from the networking with readers and the many other sites of like interests and concerns. This all started with my commenting on the TIP blog which promotes truth and justice not to be found in the mainstream media. Next an invitation to join them as a contributing author, enabling me to gain experience in writing and a strong interest, perhaps even an obsession, to criticise usually obvious wrong-doings and injustices and inhumanitarian proceedings. Together with the satisfaction of promoting some good things in life – health, happiness, freedom, humour, respect, goodwill and truth, blogging , to me, is a rewarding and fulfilling experience.

The satisfaction of doing something almost certainly worthwhile, and the camaraderie, encouragement and support from the other blogs add together to make this a really important part of my life.

Will I actually say something of practical/philosophical value?  Yes, one thing, the celebration of a New Year with copious quantities of fireworks. A current ‘affair’.

On the one hand, absolutely spectacular beauty. A mind-blowing visual and auditory experience, in this case, once a year, bringing significant,  short-term pleasure to millions of people both present and at home on metre-wide HD televisions and multi-watt stereo systems. Worth doing? Of course! Even if momentary, a highly pleasurable experience is a great event in lives that are generally strained by the everyday routines of life – work, traffic, financial issues, health issues, commercials on the media ( I have a hang-up), personal relationships, interest rates, loved ones fighting endless wars, etc etc.

But there is another side to this, as there usually is.

Consider the cost. Besides the tragic loss of a life from a fireworks accident, and the fire damage to the Melbourne Art Centre tower, the  monetary cost of a display such as in Sydney (Australia), multiplied by a large number of other capital cities throughout the world represents a gigantic amount of expenditure.

Now consider the tragedy of the famine-starved millions in under-developed countries, thousands dying a day, unheralded in the MSM, unnoticed in general. The absolute absence of virtually any pleasure. Not short-term experiences of pain and suffering but full-time continuous sickness, pain, and despair until ended by merciful death. Eventually, death becomes their pleasure, a welcome relief.

The question is, would money alone solve this tragic suffering?  No, but money, attitude, willpower, compassion and the incentive to save humanity could.

Instead, we have wars costing millions of dollars more than fireworks, billions in fact. Wars increasing the deaths and suffering. Wars and programs that would appear to be hell-bent on reducing decimating the world population. (BTW, my personal understanding of the word decimating is a serious reduction in numbers, eg, cutting to one-tenth. The dictionary meaning of ‘by one-tenth’ may be original, but it is seriously devoid of meaning and usefulness if it only means 10% reduction).

Of course, attitudes and incentives are not going to change. The warmongers/bankers are in control and a reversal of the current programs is unlikely, however much pressure is brought to bear by the ‘Occupy Wall Street‘ movement.

Why then, does my writing about it make sense, if no change is likely to result for any reason, but certainly not because of me? It makes sense because it selfishly makes me feel better, like “I have done something about it”, well tried, anyway.

It also might have a tiny bit of influence on a reader’s mindset, from “all is well with the world, the media and government are telling us not to worry, nothing I can do anyway”, to, “all is not well with the world, the mainstream media and government leaders are liars, we should be sitting up taking notice”.

That takes care of the past and the present. Now to 2012, the future.

I had better be careful I don’t start something I can’t finish. Too much, too potentially and/or actually serious, the issues are basically as follows. (As I see them).

Global financial crisis – remains and will get worse. Possibly because the forces of the ungodly prefer it that way. Certainly, they will achieve controls in countries world-wide. That leads to political control, not just financial.  The EU controllers are part of this situation. Catastrophic financial disaster threatens.

Global political turmoil – primarily through the actions of the UN and NATO, are taking power away from the patriotic, although sometimes crude, sometimes selfish, dictators and installing their own version of dictatorship. No more sovereign countries. A continuing downhill run for the public good.

‘Climate Change’, the gravy train thunders on, based on unsupportable science, again driven by the UN control agenda. Opposition from rational thinking scientists, bloggers and the occasional politician (Ex-Australian PM John Howard for one, and I wonder if Kevin Rudd was given the boot for not being willing to co-operate with the green/warmist group?),  are making inroads into the public domain with the truth about AGM issues. The future seems positive but  there is a long way to go before the truth is universal. Even then it might be too late, if countries have already lost their sovereignty, as seems to be happening in Australia.

So 2012 may in effect be the real start of the end of civilization as we know it, as predicted in connection with the Mayan calendar. Not because of natural physical factors but maybe because of mankind’s seemingly inherent trait of self-destruction.  Mind you, I am not making a prediction as such. Just suggesting that the possibility is real and there is evidence to support such an outcome.

Is it possible to say “Happy New Year” in the same breath? There is always hope. (However, as E.M. says, “hope is not a strategy”). Maybe all this warring will produce a happy outcome, but whether for the good of the people or for the good of a few, is yet to be seen.

So, in good faith, I say “HAPPY NEW YEAR” because that is what I wish for, for the majority of the world’s people. It obviously will not be happy for everyone.  But, as a wish, hopefully for many more people that are in fact likely to see it as ‘happy’.

PEACE and GOODWILL!  A dream as Martin Luther KIng Jnr. once espoused.
