2011 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2011 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Syndey Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 8,200 times in 2011. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 3 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

  1. Very interesting statistics, including how they achieve the report.
All automatic, these monkeys are clever. Certainly not done manually as they have thousands of clients.
My reaction is one of satisfaction. A good start for a new blog, I feel.
Sometimes when I see other blogs with a million hits after a couple of years, I wonder about the insignificance of my blog. Yet they all started from nothing.
The question is, what do I want anyway?
I am getting my thoughts off my chest, some readers exist and many respond favourably.
I certainly don’t want hundreds of shallow, unintelligent comments creating an endless addendum to a post, providing readers with a outlet for their own desires to be heard, and to argue!
(I want to hear from sensible people if they think I am wrong, but they need to have read my information and have reasonable evidence to disprove it.)

It is probably more ego tripping than expecting to really change the world.
But there is more to it than that. What exactly, is a bit obscure.
In real life, I am not an egrerious personality, yet I revel in the whole blogging scene.
A psychologist might provide an answer?

Most blogs accept/solicit tips etc. Although I would be pleased to have some spare cash I would not like to be considered as doing this for money!

The first thing is to fulfill my need to publish, whatever the personal motivation.
The second is to provide an information service that is more likely to be the truth than that the public press provides.
Thirdly, to expose lies and injustices and the people responsible, because they insult my intelligence and anger me.
Fourthly, to perhaps influence others to better understand the reality as distinct from the propaganda fed to us by the media, the multinationals and the governments.
Maybe my concept of reality is incorrect? Maybe, however, there are many who agree with me and/or have influenced me. My instincts are to be onside with them rather than with the warmongers, bankers and New World Order psychopaths.

    Happy New Year!
