Why do I bother? Perhaps most bloggers ask this question!

In my particular case, my hours of collecting information from innumerable sources, then keyboarding responses on this blog and Facebook, is never far removed from this very question that daily emanates from my brain.

Occasionally, there is evidence from readers comments and the reader stats, that a few people gain something from my posts and pages. That is an encouraging reward.

Even without that sort of feedback, I am achieving a degree of creativity that is satisfying.

My dream, I suppose, is to be acknowledged as a contributor to the public’s understanding of the world’s reality. Of course, as I see it! Is my understanding realistic? Perhaps not, but what I choose to believe is a shared by a great number of other people. I share what a great number of people believe to be reality, because it makes sense to me!

Our inspiration comes from such persons as Martin Luther King Jnr., JFK, and many other statesmen, but also from lesser in status but full in spirit, such as John Lennon with his “Imagine”, Peter, Paul and Mary with their “Blowing in the Wind” .

It is impossible for me to believe otherwise. Right or wrong, that is where I stand. Confident that I am on the side of truth, justice and the rights of people being upheld in a world that is being destroyed by a leadership that has no ambition other than to change the world to suit their own desires.

So, unlike Joseph Conrad, I see this enterprise not so much as a task, but more as a fulfillment of my need to express myself. But with a very keen desire to see some good to come to others in the process.

Stretching my ambitions to the extreme, I would like to think that someday, anyone who matters, reacts with “wow! this guy was right about so many things!”

Even then, will that have made a difference? Probably not, but I can only try!

Thank you to readers, followers, ‘likers’ and commenters. You are greatly appreciated.

  1. Ken I know just how you feel,
Your take on life you believe to be real,
And you have the courage to speak your mind,
Not one of the blind being led by the blind.
    So don’t get frustrated,
    Instead just be proud
    That you’re an independent thinker,
That you don’t follow the crowd.
