Completely Surrounded By Psychopaths And Sociopaths

Obviously I agree with this article authored by Michael, ‘The American Dream’. Where does one turn for solutions? Is Societal Collapse now inevitable?

Australian authorities gain power to collect internet records.

Despite pleas from the public to respect civilians’ privacy and despite replies from politicians that they were aware of their responsibility to citizens and would respect with these rights, this post reveals that this is not the outcome.

I guess the only recourse available to the voter for this, (and other) failure(s) of the government to be “for the people”, is to vote independents into power. Both parties are inadequate. The Greens are showing some responsibility regarding this issue but are set on their own path to destroy the economy.

This ‘Refreshing News’ post tells the story. (Acknowledgements to TIP for the tip!)

Laws passed today will allow authorities to collect and keep Australians’ internet records, including their web-browsing history, social media activity and emails.

Attorney-General Nicola Roxon said the laws would help police track cyber-criminals around the globe, and would give authorities the power to find people engaged in forgery, fraud, child pornography, and infringement of copyright and intellectual property.

The laws will also allow Australia to accede to the Council of Europe Convention on Cyber-crime, which has 34 members.

”Cyber-crime is a growing threat that touches all aspects of modern life,” Ms Roxon said. ”It poses complex policy and law enforcement challenges, partly due to the transnational nature of the internet.”
But Greens communications spokesman Scott Ludlam said the laws went further, and the government had failed to explain why the far-reaching powers were necessary.

”The European treaty doesn’t require ongoing collection and retention of communications, but the Australian bill does,” Senator Ludlam said.

”It also leaves the door open for Australia to assist in prosecutions which could lead to the death penalty overseas.”

The legislation will allow the Australian Federal Police to collaborate with international authorities in seeking Australian communications data under warrants.

Economic collapse fears lead Goverments to remove civilian protections from military; Germany is latest

Sott.net has this post by Kenneth Shortgen Jr., examiner.com , which speculates a socially

serious, very worrying scenario. This refers to the removal of longstanding protections for civilian populations from military intervention in domestic conflicts.  As the article mentions this has already been the case in US (blame 9/11)

International Humanitarian laws exist for this very purpose of protection, so one wonders how a civilized country can legislate to the contrary without their being involved in an international war crime situation. There again we have seen the UN become a supporter, if not instigator, of military intervention in a sovereign country (Libya and probably now Syria), so what protection can citizens expect from the UN and the Geneva Conventions?

“Part IV : Civilian population #Section I — General protection against effects of hostilities #Chapter II — Civilians and civilian population.

Article 51 IHL - Treaties & Comments — Protection of the civilian population

1. The civilian population and individual civilians shall enjoy general protection against dangers arising from military operations. To give effect to this protection, the following rules, which are additional to other applicable rules of international law, shall be observed in all circumstances.

2. The civilian population as such, as well as individual civilians, shall not be the object of attack. Acts or threats of violence the primary purpose of which is to spread terror among the civilian population are prohibited.

…………………………………”

On the other hand, many countries including Australia, have recently (2006) adopted a definition of citizens rights that leaves the way open for self-defence to be construed as combatant behaviour, thereby incurring a loss of any rights. So wide open as to be practically without meaning.

AGW – Climate Change – Southern Oceans are losing heat.

A meaningful contradiction of the ‘warmist’ claims of global temperature/heat increasing with, and as a result of, atmospheric CO2 levels.

Who is the Drug Dealer?

How many of the general public have even an inkling about this drug situation? Yet another factor that drives the war machine. Democracy and Humanitarianism are are at the bottom of the ‘list’! In fact not even on it! Only excuses given to the public to gain support, financial and political, from the taxpayers and voters.

A blatant example of how  people, countries, the world, are being used by authorities for their own hidden agendas.

Do You Have a Wheat Belly?

“Wheat contains a type of sugar called amylopectin A that raises blood sugar in an extravagant fashion. Eating just two slices of whole wheat bread, can raise blood sugar more than two tablespoons of pure sugar. This leads to the accumulation of visceral fat on the body, the deep fat encircling organs that is a hotbed of inflammatory activity. Inflammation, in turn, leads to hypertension, heart disease, cancer, and other conditions.”

Humour – Understanding Engineers.

Early in my Engineering career, I was a member of a design team in a Defence Department Aircraft Factory. There was plenty of respect and friendship with the draftsmen but I have always remembered a notice on the Drawing Office Notice Board.

I have always wanted to be an Engineer Once I couldn’t spell ‘engineer’, now I are one”.  So I can take a joke, and, in that respect, I hope I am not on my own among the practical scientist fraternity.

No source or acknowledgement for this little bit of humour, it arrived from an accountant friend by email.

Understanding Engineers

It’s not possible to understand Engineers. They are strange!!

Understanding Engineers #1

Two engineering students were biking across a university campus when one said, “Where did you get such a great bike?” The second engineer replied, “Well, I was walking along yesterday, minding my own business, when a beautiful woman rode up on this bike, threw it to the ground, took off all her clothes and said, “Take what you want.” The first engineer nodded approvingly and said, “Good choice: The clothes probably wouldn’t have fit you anyway.”

Understanding Engineers #2

To the optimist, the glass is half-full. To the pessimist, the glass is half-empty. To the engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

Understanding Engineers #3

A priest, a doctor, and an engineer were waiting one morning for a particularly slow group of golfers. The engineer fumed, “What’s with those guys? We must have been waiting for fifteen minutes!” The doctor chimed in, “I don’t know, but I’ve never seen such inept golf!” The priest said, “Here comes the greens-keeper. Let’s have a word with him.” He said, “Hello George, What’s wrong with that group ahead of us? They’re rather slow, aren’t they?” The greens-keeper replied, “Oh, yes. That’s a group of blind firemen. They lost their sight saving our clubhouse from a fire last year, so we always let them play for free anytime.” The group fell silent for a moment. The priest said, “That’s so sad. I think I will say a special prayer for them tonight.” The doctor said, “Good idea. I’m going to contact my ophthalmologist colleague and see if there’s anything she can do for them.” The engineer said, “Why can’t they play at night?”

Understanding Engineers #4

What is the difference between mechanical engineers and civil engineers? Mechanical engineers build weapons. Civil engineers build targets.

Understanding Engineers #5

The graduate with a science degree asks, “Why does it work?” The graduate with an engineering degree asks, “How does it work?” The graduate with an accounting degree asks, “How much will it cost?” The graduate with an arts degree asks, “Do you want fries with that?”

Understanding Engineers #6

Three engineering students were gathered together discussing who must have designed the human body. One said, “It was a mechanical engineer. Just look at all the joints.” Another said, “No, it was an electrical engineer. The nervous system has many thousands of electrical connections.” The last one said, “No, actually it had to have been a civil engineer. Who else would run a toxic waste pipeline through a recreational area?”

Understanding Engineers #7

Normal people believe that if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Engineers believe that if it ain’t broke, it doesn’t have enough features yet.

Understanding Engineers #8

An engineer was crossing a road one day, when a frog called out to him and said, “If you kiss me, I’ll turn into a beautiful princess.” He bent over, picked up the frog, and put it in his pocket. The frog spoke up again and said, “If you kiss me, I’ll turn back into a beautiful princess and stay with you for one week.” The engineer took the frog out of his pocket, smiled at it and returned it to the pocket. The frog then cried out, “If you kiss me and turn me back into a princess, I’ll stay with you for one week and do anything you want.” Again, the engineer took the frog out, smiled at it and put it back into his pocket. Finally, the frog asked, “What is the matter? I’ve told you I’m a beautiful princess and that I’ll stay with you for one week and do anything you want. Why won’t you kiss me?” The engineer said, “Look, I’m an engineer. I don’t have time for a girlfriend, but a talking frog – now that’s cool.”

Solar cycles and historical climate records.

A very deep and meaningful study into past climatic cycles which doesn’t even need to be read thoroughly to give us credence to two factors. One, that this sort of intelligent study runs rings orbits around the AGW science and its conclusions. Two, that this is evidence of potential global cooling, a warning to think very seriously about the supposed need for carbon controls and taxes.

A degree of speculation, but based on sound logic.

Musings from the Chiefio

From the “Well that’s not good.” department…

All indications are that we are headed into a Grand Solar Minimum. The timing is right. The solar activity is right. The weather shifts are starting to match up (cold / wet in the UK and Europe, dry / hot in the US Midwest and East Russia).

So any historical examples of what happens then?

Solar Cycles

Several folks have done a lot of work to show repeating patterns of solar activity. One very useful chart is here:

http://www.landscheidt.info/?q=node/6

based on the (roughly) 179 year solar cycle and the periodic return of “chaotic” motion as the sun enters a retrograde orbital motion about the barycenter.

Notice that the Maunder Minimum runs between the two green arrows at the start panel. Note, too, that the panels are aligned on a 180 year repeat. 1640, 1820, 2000 A.D. for alignment points of grand minima episodes…

Water is important for your Health.

Seems so basic and simple yet this will be news to most. Thanks, Ellen.

Pinching the “punchline”:

  • *2 _glasses of water after waking up _- helps  activate internal organs *
  • *1 _glass  of water  30 minutes  before a meal_ – helps  digestion*
  • *1 _glass  of water before taking a bath_ – helps lower  blood pressure*
  • *1 _glass  of water before going to bed_ – avoids stroke  or heart attack*
