Having just battled with my conscience and principles on another post related to a medical issue, the temptation to favour information, what I believe to be truth, and the public deserving all available advice as being more important, leads also to this post.
The publisher of this information is pushing its barrow to sell more information and I have no wish to help in that regard. Nevertheless, there is much to be learned and considered about matters which cannot be simply dismissed as irrelevant, exaggerated, incorrect or misleading. Strong stuff, but it’s born out sufficiently by facts.

On Friday, September 27th 2002, behind the closed doors of the 42nd Inter-Science Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy in San Diego, USA, a hushed international assembly of top doctors, bacteriologists and government officials finally heard the news they’d been dreading…
Scientists from the Center For Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia had just confirmed their worst fears by reporting the first ever case of vancomycin-resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (VRSA) infection.
The ‘unthinkable’ had finally happened.
A ‘super’ strain of the bacteria staphylococcus aureus had finally found a way to become resistant to medicine’s ‘big gun’ antibiotic, vancomycin — our last line of defence against superbugs. (Source: Staphylococcus aureus resistant to vancomycin – United States, 2002. MMWR. Morb Mortal Wkly Rep. 2002;51:565-567)
In simple language, what this meant for you and me — and for the population of the planet — was that we had just LOST the battle against one of the most virulent superbugs known to mankind.
Antibiotics have always been considered an impregnable defence against staphylococcus aureus ever since they were first introduced in the 1930s and 1940s.
Indeed,up until the 1990s most antibiotics had done their job well against bacterial infection – so well in fact that doctors dolled out antibiotics like candy to treat every trivial ailment around… a normal cold, a small cut or graze, or a minor inflammation or infection.
However, by overprescribing antibiotics, doctors had unwittingly allowed bacteria to build up resistance to antibiotics.
One by one, antibiotics began to lose their effectiveness, until they reached the last line of defence… vancomycin.
Not surprisingly, this devastating news from the San Diego conference was hushed up by the US government for fear that it would cause a national panic.
But as the years passed, it soon became clear to medical insiders that the situation was becoming worse and worse.
Fast forward nearly 10 years to Friday, March 16th 2012 . . . Margaret Chan, Director General of the World Health Organisation (WHO) famously predicts ‘the end of modern medicine’ as the WHO finally admits that antibiotics have been so over-used that they’re now almost completely useless against ‘super strains’ of bacterial infection.
The result of this, she warns, could be that routine operations become impossible to carry out and minor cuts and grazes become potentially life-threatening.
Now, in terms of apocalyptic scenarios, this is right up there with Armageddon!
A ‘catastrophic national emergency’
Fast forward again to the present day… on Thursday, 24th January 2013, Dame Sally Davies, the UK’s Chief Medical Officer, warns members of the British parliament that: “…the rise in antibiotic-resistant diseases could trigger a national emergency comparable to a catastrophic terrorist attack, pandemic flu or major coastal flooding.”
She goes on to say that the threat from infections which are resistant to frontline antibiotics is so serious that the issue should be added to the government’s national risk register of civil emergencies.
Wow! When you hear high officials using words like “the end of modern medicine” and “catastrophic national emergency”, then you can be pretty sure that something’s going drastically wrong with our system of healthcare…
So, what’s prompted these high officials to come out with these stark warnings?
And why now…?
Hello, my name is Andrew Miller, I’m the Publisher of The Journal of Natural Health Solutions in London.
We’ve been reporting on health and medicine for over 15 years and we now have more than 120,000 subscribers worldwide who receive our regular health advisory service.
And during those 15 years, one thing has stood out more than anything else… that prescription medicines are failing to deliver freedom from illness and disease.
Every day we receive dozens of letters, emails and posts on our websites asking for help from people whose lives have been ruined by a prescription drug or treatment which has damaged them.
And they’re all saying the same thing: If only I’d known sooner…
It was this sense of anger and frustration that people just aren’t being told the truth about the drugs we all take on a daily basis that first drove us to lift the lid on the sleazy practices of the pharmaceutical industry…
And as we delved deeper, we uncovered deceit, corruption and false claims on a shockingly grand scale which is costing hundreds of thousands of lives every year…
So, now this Golden Age of Antibiotics is over, what comes next?
…There must be other drugs being developed that will take the place of antibiotics…?
…What about all the new drugs and vaccines that we read about in the papers every day?
…Surely, they’ll protect us from disease and suffering, won’t they?
…After all … medicine has got disease pretty much under control, hasn’t it?
…Surely we’ve never been healthier . . . aren’t we all living longer now than we ever did?
Well, the authorities certainly want us to believe that drugs are keeping us healthy and helping us live longer.
But, I’m afraid this couldn’t be further from the truth.
And, although statistics show that we are living longer, this has more to do with better sanitation and standards of hygiene, an abundant supply of food and a drastic reduction in infant mortality rates – issues which plagued our society from the early 1900s…
…and very little to do with pharmaceutical drugs.
Quite simply, the drugs that we have today either don’t work, or else they’re too dangerous to take because of their damaging side effects, because…
… They’ve been rushed through without proper testing
… Trial results attesting to their effectiveness have been falsified
… And information on their safety has been deliberately withheld
They fix it so that internet search engines like Google, Bing and the rest fall into line – under threat of legal and commercial sanctions – so that the search results you get when searching for a solution to your health problem are likely to belong to those corporations and establishments that have the biggest vested interests.
They lobby the BMA, the FDA and the Brussels dictocrats in order to get them to suppress any alternative medical view.
And they demand that any natural treatments or remedies are banned from sale in the name of ‘public safety.’.
But, the reality is that, if mainstream medicine really were the science it claims to be, it would have to ditch almost 90 per cent of its drugs and treatments , and declare them unsafe and ineffective…
Don’t believe me?
Well that’s what a research team working in conjunction with the prestigious British Medical Journal has just concluded…
In the latest 2012 Clinical Evidence Handbook, the BMJ researchers looked at 2,500 of the most common drugs and treatments used every day in hospitals and surgeries.
And what they discovered has shaken the whole medical establishment to its very core (although you probably wouldn’t have heard about this in the mainstream media)…
The researchers found that – at best – only 12% of drugs and treatments prescribed by your doctor have been shown in scientific studies to have any benefit for treating illness.
Like me, you’re probably thinking that’s a worryingly low figure.
But, if you think this is bad enough, we’ve barely scratched the surface…
And much more along the same provocative critical lines challenging the mainstream medical industry. The complete article is available here.
This article presents a great deal to consider, but I do not believe it should be ignored because of its commercial agenda, just as one does not simply ignore the mainstream medical information because it is built on a commercial platform. The public’s health is, or should be, the issue. But there are two sides to the mainstream medical scenario. The positive and negative. Both should be subject to rigorous assessment and be the subject of transparent reporting. That is definitely not happening!
The same approach would be in order for the natural and alternative health products and treatments. Assessments being scientific, transparent and free from corruption by either exaggeration or omission.
