People Who Grow Their Own Food Labeled Extremist By Dept. Of Defense

This is a thought-provoking article with an important insight into how the American hierarchy see themselves. Far from the attitude that is desired to maintain a society that provides peace and freedom.

Ironically, their definition of an “extremist” seems to closely fit their own behaviour:
“The manual defines an “extremist” as “a person who advocates the use of force or violence; advocates supremacist causes based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, or national origin; or otherwise engages to illegally deprive individuals or groups of their civil rights.””

Hence demonstrating the distorted cognizance and the lack of responsibility and empathy that aptly defines psychopaths.

Mann and Lewandowsky go psychotic on climate skeptics

From the subject paper:
“A common current attribute of denial is that it side-steps the peer-reviewed literature and relies on platforms such as internet blogs or tabloid newspapers to disseminate its dissent from the scientific mainstream. In contrast, the publication of dissenting views in the peer-reviewed literature does not constitute denial.”

Given that there are many dissenting views in peer-reviewed literature, that support the “denialist” claims, one wonders about their level of cognizance of reality, when they label two exact same items as either ‘denial’ or ‘not denial ‘.

Coalition to UN climate talks: F*** OFF!!

“Australia punches above its weight in international forums such as the UN conference and this can work in both a positive and negative way,” Mr Connor said. “

It has always punched above its own weight, usually an embarrassment, IMHO.

However, if this is true, it would be a mighty achievement for Australia to be the leader in a world-changing commonsense approach to “climate change” and to initiate the global awakening that the existing political scam is unscientific, unnecessary and destructive in many ways.

Australian Climate Madness

Bravo! The new Coalition government in Australia give the big finger to the latest UN climate gab-fest:

AUSTRALIA has downgraded its role in global climate change negotiations and will not send a minister to the UN conference being held in Poland from next week.

The federal government confirmed yesterday that Environment Minister Greg Hunt would not have a role at the international gathering, while Foreign Minister Julie Bishop, who has responsibility for all international negotiations in the Abbott government, said she was too busy to attend.

Australia’s climate change ambassador Justin Lee left Australia yesterday for the Warsaw meeting, which is aiming to progress talks for a global agreement that includes China, India and the US by 2015.

Ms Bishop is scheduled to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting meeting in Sri Lanka next week but this is the week before ministers from other nations were due to…

Lewandowsky forgets who funds his university: the Aussie taxpayer

Readers will be well aware of my views on ‘CO2 being labelled a “climate change villain”‘. A CAGW advocate, instead of complaining about criticism, would be well advised to step back and have a closer look at his science that supposedly supports his views. Rather than criticize the system, or the persons involved, and to address the criticizing material.

Australian Climate Madness

UPDATE: Another article in Psychological Science claims that critics of Lewandowsky’s work were:

“invited to submit a commentary for publication in Psychological Science, but never acted on that invitation.”

I for one have never been invited to make such a comment, and I’m still waiting… (h/t Geoff in the comments)

Astonishingly, Professor Stephan Lewandowsky appears to have completely forgotten that, being on the staff at the University of Western Australia (UWA), he was paid out of the public purse, contributed to by my (and all other Australians’) taxpayer dollars, and as a consequence must accept that his work is subject the Freedom of Information (FoI) regime in force in Australia.

If he wishes to avoid such scrutiny, he should find a job in the private sector, which is not subject to the same rules, but where he would have to compete in the market for funding for his peculiar…

Harvard University: Big Pharma is Corrupted;

From ‘PRWeb’, a very interesting claim by Harvard University about  Big Pharma Institutional corruption.

Sunset over Coney Island (Photo credit: Jaszek)

However, here within lies the obvious basic problem“The CBCD invites pharmaceutical executives to contact the Center to discuss forward thinking strategies that can help reduce corruption while maximizing profits.” [My emphasis].

It is obvious that maximizing profits is a high priority, BUT, isn’t the most important priority  the health of the public??? Obviously not!

Rochester, NY (PRWEB) November 01, 2013

Big Pharma suffers from institutional corruption according to Harvard University researchers (1). They came to this conclusion after examining Pharma’s practices and policies in 5 different categories: systemic problems, medical research, medical knowledge and practice, marketing, and patient advocacy organizations. The CBCD believes this institutional corruption is a result of the productivity crisis in pharmaceutical R&D.

What is institutional corruption?

According to Marc A. Rodwin, one of the lead researchers, institutional corruption is “widespread or systemic practices, usually legal, that undermine an institution’s objectives or integrity. Institutional corruption displaces some goals and compromises the attainment of others (2).”

An example of systemic corruption, (corruption of the entire system, or way of doing things) is Big Pharma’s funding of political campaigns, selectively providing information to legislators, subsidizing their work, and targeting campaign contributions to influential legislators and allies (1). Another example of a systemic problem is the fact that “Firms have strong financial incentives to develop so-called me-too drugs – products which are minor variations of existing drugs – and to heavily market them in ways that exaggerate their benefits and fail to reveal their full risks (1).”

The Harvard researchers found that Big Pharma manipulates physicians across America to achieve their financial goals. They wrote that “widespread practices in the medical and pharmaceutical industries can lead to doctors who are psychologically, financially, or intellectually dependent on drug companies (1).” In other words, Pharma turned these doctors into their agents. This is a phenomenon which has “resulted in…Doctors who take such misleading information at face value (and) prescribe drugs that are often unnecessary, harmful to patients, or more costly than equivalent medications (1).”

In short, the Harvard researchers “uncovered how pharmaceutical marketing …distorts medical practice… (1).”

When normal people become corrupted, it is usually due to extreme pressure. For example, when someone holds a gun to the head of one’s child, or when one is bankrupt and must still purchase food for one’s family…then one may be driven to extreme acts. The same holds true for Big Pharma. The productivity crisis is driving Pharma to extreme measures. These extreme measures were labeled by researchers as ‘institutional corruption.’

Australian military apologises for starting bushfire in NSW, no compensation for victims

Thanks Crystal for the post.

It seems that our civil laws do not apply to the military. Any one else would be responsible for a criminal act, even if accidental, and be the subject of the Law system.
