Australia moves to buy $3b spy drone fleet

An interesting scenario.
Even if used for coastal surveillance, it seems less cost-effective than piloted aircraft.
The real problem exists in their anti-social and military capabilities, not to mention that our (Australian), education and health systems are underfunded and below reasonable standards. Also, our economy is deteriorating and the poor and homeless, depending on welfare, and the welfare organizations are substantially underfunded.
Do we want to go the way of the US?
