Occasionally SSMA receives letters from the public in relation to smart meters and the actions they have taken. We thought this letter deserves sharing.
The writer of this featured letter developed severe, debilitating symptoms from neighbouring smart meters and for this reason stopped smart meter installation on their property after receiving an initial letter from United Energy. Subsequently the Premier and Energy Minister, as well as United Energy, were informed of the writers dire health situation. Despite taking this action, the writer went on to receive two more letters from United Energy, advising of impending smart meter installation as per government ‘mandate’. At this stage the writer was quite traumatized by this persistence in the face of life ruining ill health and proceeded to write a letter of ‘undue harassment’ to both United Energy and the Energy Minister.
