Snow and Altitude Temperatures suggest no Global Warming.

The mountain shall come to the aid of the righteous!
The mountain of evidence that the ‘global warming’ trend is unsupportable, builds surely and steadily.

The authorites are defensive.

Censorship is becoming an issue. I wonder why? (sarc)

There is this rather interesting “barometer” of local weather. Mount Hamilton. It has an observatory on top of it, that includes a weather station or two. It sometimes gets snow. During the ’80s and ’90s, snow had become a ‘sometimes’ thing. During the ’60s and ’70s it was more of a frequent thing. In the last couple of years, we’ve gone back to frequent.

Folks sometimes would go ‘up the hill’ to play in the snow. Then in the early ’80s the area became subject to ‘snow closures’. Too many folks on a very narrow road to please the ‘locals’ who pressured their local politicians who decided to keep everyone else out. So you get to show your license to the poor cop who ends up stuck at the bottom of the hill…

Fukushima – Incompetence, Corruption, Lies – Dangers

There are many posts on this blog related  to this title.

The Category “nuclear” should list them. Then there is the ‘Page’ “Radiation” offering relevant information and links. This subject is of vital importance to the whole world.  Not by any means complete or definitive but useful.

Just how its priority might be judged against the other  major issues such as the Middle East, the global financial crisis, the Global Warming Scam and the collapse of the US economy and social structure, is difficult to assess.

But for this blog, with Health and Survival as personal priorities, the Japanese disaster is certainly taking the back row.

For these reasons, I would like to direct readers’ attention to the side-bar link section “Nuclear Dangers” for sources of future information on Fukushima and associated news.

Don’t misunderstand me, nuclear power stations and radiation dangers are a serious issue, they might even be the most important threat to our collective survival, one way or another. But, right now, I am trying to cover too big an area of interest, and other interests are more current.

So just to top off the posts (nuclear related) here is an SKF Blogspot post reminding us that official news from TEPCO, Japanese Government and the media is not reliable.

Kan Administration Demanded TEPCO Not Record Kan’s Tirade on March 15, 2011 Over TEPCO’s “Withdrawal” from #Fukushima I Nuke Plant

Contrary to what TEPCO’s PR person told the reporters during the media tour of the plant in February, it has turned out that the video and audio copies of the teleconferences between the parties involved (Fukushima I Nuke Plant management, TEPCO HQ, the Japanese government) do exist.
It has also turned out that the Kan administration officials may have instructed TEPCO to delete the audio portion of the contentious meeting in March last year between then-Prime Minister Kan and TEPCO officials where the prime minister threatened TEPCO not to withdraw from the plant.
Denki Shinbunis an industry newspaper covering energy and electricity issues, and it reports on this incident as follows (3/19/2012):

Someone may have instructed TEPCO to stop recording when Mr. Kan angrily confronted TEPCO officials at the TEPCO headquarters
It has been revealed by the source involved that the Prime Minister’s Office may have requested that part of the audio recording to be deleted during the teleconference when then-Prime Minister Naoto Kan visited the TEPCO headquarters on March 15 last year. Mr. Kan seemed possessed with the idea that TEPCO was planning to withdraw completely from Fukushima I Nuclear Power Plant, and was in a state of abnormal excitement. People accompanying Mr. Kan may have been worried that his remarks would be recorded verbatim. It may cause repercussions that part of the record of this historical accident has been lost this way.
According to the investigation commission set up by the National Diet, there is a video of Mr. Kan scolding the TEPCO officials in the TEPCO’s emergency response room on the 2nd floor of the TEPCO headquarters [in Tokyo]. But there is no audio to the video, and the commission has no way of knowing what Mr. Kan said.
According to the sources involved, Mr. Kan pointed the finger to each individual TEPCO official present, saying “Is it you who wanted to flee? Or is it you?” The sources told [this paper] that TEPCO was about to record the event as usual, but one of Kan’s entourage told TEPCO not to record. (extracted from the article on the front page of this paper)

Personally, from what I’ve read from the interim report by the  investigation committee set up by the Cabinet Office, I do not believe TEPCO  intended to do so or that there was anything TEPCO could have done at that point (it took fire fighters to pour water from the fire engine booms to the  spent fuel pools to lower the radiation levels somewhat).
It looks like someone fed the excitable prime minister some incomplete information about TEPCO’s intention. I do not know whether that was intentional or unintentional; it may be the case of “Chinese whispers” game. Asahi Shinbun reported that Takamasa Shimizu, then-President of TEPCO, was desperately trying to reach Minister of Economy Kaieda, not Kan, that day, after the radiation levels in the plant compound spiked to a lethal level.
It has sure helped boost Kan’s standing that he stood up against the villainous TEPCO.

Australia Is “Ideal” for Contaminated Soil and Debris from Fukushima ?????

Can I believe this?
Corruption knows no bounds!!!

Just to avoid confusion, the Australian ex-minister is Andrew Thomson, not Dr. Haruki Madarame.

This is serious stuff, not in the interests of the Australian public!

Support for Whistleblowers – Truth Telling In War

I wholeheartedly agree with this group’s philosophy, beliefs and what they are trying to achieve. There appears to be two types of person, or two distinct ways of thinking and /or perceiving in the world of ours. What could be the “Wonderful World” of Louis Armstrong, but apparently never to be!

That there exist people that instinctively resort to violence is unfortunately a fact. However, the response to the violence of the ones who have some sort of rational control over their actions seems to be the puzzling aspect of human nature.

One could rationally look at the root causes of the initial violence and consider a humane response. However, what is done, unfortunately without exception, is to respond with further violence. Most of us try to teach our kids these basic principles and most learn from it.

(Any attempts at peace making are so blatantly unrealistic or false that they cannot be expected to work. I think it’s what’s called ‘lip service’.)

Others, including grown men (and women) who show no signs of maturity and get kicks out of creating wars without justification, are unfortunately in positions of power and do create wars, simply because they can.  That they rarely win, at least in any rational sense, is not a disincentive. Certainly they have a goal in mind, but it is not fair and reasonable. It is clearly unjust.

This post deals with the resulting conflict between the warmongers on the one hand, and the mature and humane thinkers who, on the other, do understand the truth and are prepared to make their knowledge and feelings  public.

The consequence of this is that the warmongers cannot handle the truth, as it shows them up as the psychopaths that they are, and rather than let the public come to their own conclusions, they seriously tread on the whistleblowers.

Thus, even more of the public become even more aware of the situation. And they become more aware of the type of leaders they have, leaders who will tread on  anyone who disagrees, thus highlighting their intolerance and inhumanity.

The treatment of whistleblowers is clearly abhorrent and cannot be justified in any meaningful way. That they are telling the truth is not disputed, but they are punished for no other reason than that they show up the wrongs of the leaders and the military. There can be no clearer example of injustice and ‘man’s inhumanity to man’.

After all, it is the whistleblowers who are abiding by and supporting the US Constitution and it is the authorities, being in conflict with the Constitution who are the real traitors to their country and their citizens. Think about that!

The following extract from this promotion of the discussion panel dealing with this topic, sums up the truth about the current warmongering.

The Iraq and Afghanistan wars have cost the United States the lives of nearly 8000 soldiers, cost over four trillion dollars, caused countless cases of severe Post Traumantic Stress Disorder in military personnel, and killed thousands of civilians in Afghanistan and hundreds of thousands of citizens in Iraq. The rationale for going to war with Iraq was misleading at best, and false and highly manipulative at worst. The path this nation took in the war on terror after 9/11 is one that has fundamentally reshaped this nation – leaving citizens with a government that is increasingly secretive, unaccountable to the people, and prone to trading long-cherished liberties for a questionable sense of national security.

RevolutionTruth Panel:Truth-telling in War: What it Means to be a Military WhistleblowerMarch 21, 2012 – 6PM (EST)

Friends and fellow truth advocates,

In the midst of two wars that have cost us so much, there are occasionally people who step forward to bring the public hard truths. Military whistle-blowers brave condemnation from all corners; servicemen and women who openly challenge the state-framed narrative of war face a harsh reality – the deep and widespread unwillingness to truly question what is happening, and the subsequent costs of telling the truth.

Join us this Wednesday, March 21 for our second panel in our Empire series: Truth-telling in War – What it Means to be a Military Whistleblower.

Our host, Tangerine Bolen, will speak with Ethan McCord (Collateral Murder, Incident in New Baghdad) and Michael Prysner (March Forward!) about their experiences in war, what made them whistle-blowers, and their dedication to telling the truth against great odds. We are honored to welcome these courageous vets to our panel, and look forward to a powerful discussion on truth telling in difficult times!

The Iraq and Afghanistan wars have cost the United States the lives of nearly 8000 soldiers, cost over four trillion dollars, caused countless cases of severe Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in military personnel, and killed thousands of civilians in Afghanistan and hundreds of thousands of citizens in Iraq.

Join two military whistle-blowers who have demonstrated a profound willingness to maintain the oaths they took to defend the nation and the United States Constitution, when doing so meant turning against the US military, and the government’s framing of these wars.

Al Qaeda Is a Complete Fabrication – a Made in the USA production.

The essence of any communication campaign is to successfully deliver the message to the targeted recipients and make them react to it the way you wished. – Allied Media Corps”

This quote starts off the post by ‘PressCore’ that aptly reveals convincing information about the organization/opportunistic creation called Al Qaeda.

Have a good think about it, please.

In the BBC’s documentary called “The Power of Nightmares“  top CIA officials openly admit that Al Qaeda is a total and complete  fabrication, never having existed at any time. al Qaeda is code for illegal CIA false flag attacks against the United States and other countries.  The highly revealing BBC  documentary digs deep into the roots of the war on terror, only to find  that much of the widespread fear in the post-9/11 world has been  fabricated by those in power for their own interests.  Fear has been  used widely in the media to manipulate the public into giving up civil  liberties and turning over power to elite groups with their own hidden  agendas.

The Power of Nightmares clearly demonstrates that the nightmare  vision of a powerful, united terrorist organization waiting to strike  our societies is largely an illusion. Wherever the BBC team looked for  Al Qaeda, from the mountains of Afghanistan to the sleeper cells in  America, they found that we are chasing a phantom enemy.  The documentary exposes the Bush administration’s need for a reason that complied with  the Laws so they could go after “the bad guy of their choice” namely  laws that had been set in place to protect us from mobs and “criminal  organizations” such as the Mafia. They paid Jamal al Fadl, hundreds of  thousands of dollars to back the U.S. Government’s story of Al Qaeda, a  “group” or criminal organization they could “legally” go after.

“Al Qaeda is not an organization. Al Qaeda is a way of working … but  this has the hallmark of that approach.”  People the US claim to be Al  Qaeda are not Al Qaeda they are actually POWs and Resistance Fighters,  taken from the countries the US illegally attacked.  They are POWs and  Resistance Fighters who have been illegally deported, tortured and  murdered by the US and NATO forces .  The people who are fighting to  free their country and countrymen from the illegal US and NATO invasion  and occupations are called Al Qaeda by the US government because the US  government needed an enemy.  If the US people knew the truth that Al  Qaeda doesn’t exist the US would not be in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Al  Qaeda is the US government propaganda, used to falsely and illegally  justify the US and NATO invasion and occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan.   Both attacks, wars and occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan are deemed  by US, Canadian and International Law as crimes against peace, crimes  against humanity,  wars of aggression and war crimes.

A BRICS initiative on Syria

I like this msnbc post on improving the situation in Syria and the world in general. I hope India also likes it!

Melkulangara BHADRAKUMAR – via The 4Th Media  Recent media reports suggest the intriguing possibility that ‘non-alignment’ is likely gaining currency once again as the core tenet of India’s foreign policy. Life is taking full circle after almost 6 or 7 years ago when the former United States Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice exhorted Indian pundits to purge from their thinking the last trace of the doctrine of ‘non-alignment’ associated with the world of Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi. She sought that Indians should instead trust the United States’ determination to make their country a truly global player.

Thus, in the period that followed, Chanakya (circa 3rd century BC) who is credited with authorship of the ancient Indian political treatise called Arthasatra, was brought out of the woodwork to replace Nehru and Indira Gandhi as the new game in town in New Delhi. The ‘Hindu Machiavelli’ who was forgotten for some two millennia as an archaic past if little relevance to the modern-day world, provided the ‘civilisational alibi’ for the Indian establishment to bring about a paradigm shift in its foreign policy – under the garb of ‘national interests’ – attuned to its ‘unipolar predicament’ in the post-Cold War era.

But then, trouble ensued. To the astonishment of the Indian crew, by the time their ship changed course, the world financial crisis erupted and the engine of the American ship began spluttering. The Indians are used to sailing ships in far greater disrepair and they kept wondering what was all this fuss about the dysfunctional American ship but in the event reason began prevailing.

Suffice to say, taking shelter behind an inchoate welter of ‘national interests’ is no longer tenable and a post-modern rediscovery of ‘non-alignment’ suitable for the digital age has become necessary – ‘Non-Alignment. 2’.

But, is India truly ready for ‘non-alignment’? The heart of the matter is that ‘non-alignment’ is not only a doctrine but also a frame of mind. It is this fascinating quality of the mind – of being creative and innovative while being reflective – that differentiates it from mundane ‘neutrality’ or passivity. Is the Indian establishment in a frame of mind to be creative?

After nearly a decade of harmonizing the Indian policies with the American policies and global strategies, the capacity for new thinking has diminished in New Delhi. A kind of Pavlovian reflex took over. Second, a gnawing hope lingers in the Indian mind that maybe the American ship might be pulling into the harbor for some minor repair and may resume its global voyage. (Washington, of course, will do all it can to reinforce that naïve hope.)

Third and the most important, New Delhi finds to its dismay that the ‘non-aligned’ camp has also transformed while it was consorting with the US superpower. Funnily, China entered the tent that Nehru erected on the global commons and India needs to be a new team player and incrementally prove its leadership qualities.

China is no cakewalk, either. It is a seasoned practitioner of international diplomacy and possesses the native genius to think situations through in the long term and craft policies and strategies riveted on apparently value-based principles, which help it optimally navigate its specific, hard-nosed national interests as well.

The crisis in Syria shows that Russia and China are creatively adapting the tenets of ‘non-alignment’ to the prevailing world order. This has brought the two countries closer together than at anytime in modern history. They share a common aversion toward Cold-War era ‘bloc mentality’. Neither is prescriptive as to how others should order their national life.

They share an abhorrence of the use of force to settle differences. Both are staunchly wedded to international law and the United Nations Charter – and, indeed, the primacy of the UN itself – as the guiding principles in the conduct of inter-state relations involving countries big and small.

Neither China nor Russia seeks an alliance system to further national interests. Nor do they even remotely contemplate a confrontation with the US-led alliance Cold-War era trans-Atlantic military alliance system that still exists in the international system.

Syria, thus, becomes an engrossing test case where the West and its hangers-on would find itself pitted against the doctrine of ‘non-alignment’ for the first time in a post-Cold war setting. What happens in Syria is going to determine the fate and character of the multipolar world order in the coming decades. The fundamental issue is whether reform and democratization of a society is possible through dialogue and discussion.

The ‘non-aligned’ countries have a big role to play in making a peaceful transition possible in Syria. If India joins hands with Russia and China in an endeavor in search of peace and reconciliation, the prospects of success will remarkably improve. Other influential voices in the world community – the ‘silent majority’ – will also feel encouraged to express their deep disquiet about what is happening in Syria so soon after the West’s bloody war in Libya.

The Syrian situation has all the pre-requisites of mediation by an entity of impartial, well-meaning non-aligned countries so that the civil war and the horrendous bloodshed and anarchy that stares in the face can still be avoided. Russia and China are already playing a role, although the West and the “pro-West” Arab camp (masquerading as the Arab League) constantly frustrate their efforts. That is why India joining hands with Russia and China at this juncture could make a critical difference.

The credentials of these three countries to perform such a role are far better than one might imagine. To be sure, all three are stakeholders in a stable, secure Middle East region. They enjoy cordial ties with all the countries of the region, which may be currently finding themselves in discords (exacerbated by outsiders) over one issue or another – be it Saudi Arabia and Qatar or Syria, Iraq and Lebanon. Their intentions toward the Arab peoples have never been hegemonistic, historically speaking. In sum, they enjoy the perfect credentials to help the region harness the impulses of the Arab Spring and transform them creatively as a genuinely Arab narrative.

What Syria acutely needs is an Arab narrative – not a roadmap drawn up by Nicolas Sarkozy or David Cameron. And, on the contrary, what is happening is that in the absence of an authentic Arab narrative, imposters have appeared from outside the Arab world with their own formulae, which have been drawn up essentially from the point of their vested interests. Whereas, the native genius of the Arab nation is fully capable of finding a path of regeneration of their societies, provided an international climate is created for it to happen. Today, there is no unified voice striving to define that space for the Arab nation. Oil and geopolitics have surged to the fore as the principal narratives. Even ‘Islamism’ is being carefully tempered to suit the demands of geopolitics!

This is a ripe moment to mount a ‘non-aligned’ initiative on Syria. Unfortunately, there has been so far no initiative from Moscow, Beijing or New Delhi to explore the possibilities of such an initiative. While Moscow and Beijing are increasingly coordinating their stance over Syria, the fact is they are overwhelmingly on their own on the diplomatic plane. The forthcoming summit of the BRICS on March 28-29 at the Indian capital offers an occasion to propose a ‘non-aligned’ agenda for the resolution of the Syrian crisis. Perhaps, BRICS could constitute a working group. India, as the chairman of the BRICS grouping for the coming year should take the lead.

As for India, it has taken an incomprehensible decision to identify with the ‘Friends of Syria’ [FOS] grouping by attending its gathering in Tunis a week ago. Hopefully, the Tunis meet proved to be a wake-up call for the Indian foreign-policy establishment. The fashion in which Saudi Foreign Minister Saud bin Faisal staged a brusque “walk-out” from the Tunis meet – and the issues of war and peace over which he bluntly differed with his American counterpart Hillary Clinton – would have been a case study on the complexities of the Middle East situation for the Indian official present at the FOS venue. Simply put, India didn’t belong there.

Homeopaths under assault in Australia

A post on ‘Natural News‘ titled “Homeopaths under assault in Australia after NHMRC threatens to declare their work unethical”, is significant.

There is no justification for such an action, only unethical attacks on public health and unethical support for pharmaceutical profits.

NaturalNews) A draft document not intended for public release has revealed that the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) in Australia is planning to nix homeopathy from its list of covered medical treatments. The Age reports that the draft paper, which was recently leaked to reporters, dubs homeopathy an “unethical” form of medical treatment, and alleges that patients who choose homeopathy over conventional medicine could be putting themselves at risk.
Though it has been used safely and effectively for hundreds of years by millions of people around the world, homeopathy is increasingly finding itself in the crosshairs of government-run healthcare programs like NHMRC that are heavily influenced by pharmaceutical interests determined to destroy access to natural forms of treatment. And unless the natural health community fights back, the practice of homeopathy “down under” could soon be a thing of the past.
Contrary to conventional belief, homeopathy is not merely a placebo. Numerous peer-reviewed scientific studies conducted over the years have shown that homeopathy can help treat respiratory ailments and allergies, influenza, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, childhood diarrhea, post-surgical abdominal surgery recovery, and attention deficit disorder (ADD), as well as many other conditions (http://www.naturalnews.com/031210_Luc_Montagnier_Homeopathy.html).
Because of its proven track record of success, homeopathy continues to be widely used throughout Europe, including in Great Britain, as well as in the United States and Canada, because it is effective and does not produce negative side effects. And because of its relatively low cost compared to conventional “Western” drug treatments, homeopathy is a practical, cost-effective form of medicine that can also help reign in the costs of out-of-control healthcare spending.
Rather than allow Australians to make their own healthcare choices, in other words, NHMRC wants to follow the lead of the British House of Commons in declaring homeopathy to be no more efficacious than a placebo in order to defund it from the public health service. So Australian citizens who choose to use homeopathy will now have to pay for it out of their own pockets.
Greg Cope, President of the Australian Homeopathic Association, has reportedly been in the process of submitting new clinical trials to NHMRC that demonstrate the effectiveness of homeopathy in a bid to keep it funded. But it remains to be seen whether or not the medical body will pay attention to it to preserve freedom of health choice in this matter.

Financial Derivatives Time Bomb

Probably the most important aspect of the global financial situation.
Probably the reason why the global financial system is destined to fail.
It is probably only a matter of time!

I subscribe to the WantToKnow.info list under two different email addresses just to make sure that the messages go through. Today, for only the second time in four years, both emails were automatically filtered to my spam box. The first time was about four months ago when I reported on the secret societies of the power elite (http://www.WantToKnow.info/secretsocietiesnewsarticles). It was a very key and important message someone may have wanted to censor.

Today’s message also happens to be one of the most important messages I’ve ever sent. It clearly reveals the blatant corruption of the big banks in the $700 trillion derivatives market.

The mind boggles. The Australian government, or is it just Julia Gillard playing ‘God’ again, sends our armed services into other countries on the instructions of the US (presumably), tantamount to an act of of war, without a hint of discussion and debate in the Parliament. Or have I missed something?

Death and Public Relations

Bob says it all.  Here is an example
“But the most telling scandal to hit the base, hoisting the most glaring red flag, is the one about the overturned PTSD diagnoses. Since 2007, according to the Washington Post, about 300 such diagnoses have been incorrectly downgraded at the base medical center to lesser conditions, allowing those soldiers to be redeployed and relieving the military of responsibility for treatment and long-term care. The situation caused such an uproar that the Army Medical Command opened an investigation last month and the head of the medical center was placed on administrative leave. My guess is that this is just the tip of the iceberg.”

““This terrible incident does not change our steadfast dedication to protecting the Afghan people and to doing everything we can to build a strong and stable Afghanistan.” — Secretary of State Hillary Clinton”  [Stand-out candidate for retirement due to psychopathic disorders.]

““And obviously what happened this weekend was absolutely tragic and heartbreaking. But when you look at what hundreds of thousands of our military personnel have achieved under enormous strain, you can’t help but be proud generally.” — President Barack Obama” [ditto – he cannot distinguish between “proud” and “ashamed“].

COTO Report

By Robert C. Koehler

The killer was in his fourth deployment.  He walked from his base to one village, then another, leaving behind the lunacy and spiritual wreckage of American foreign policy.  Then he walked back to his base and calmly turned himself in.  [Image]

I’ve been staring at the words for hours now:

“This terrible incident does not change our steadfast dedication to protecting the Afghan people and to doing everything we can to build a strong and stable Afghanistan.” — Secretary of State Hillary Clinton

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and their entire community.” — deputy American ambassador to Afghanistan, James B. Cunningham

The words are meant to soften this PR disaster, to muffle the cries of the survivors.
