This post is primarily to acknowledge readers who have shown their interest and appreciation by signing up as a blog follower, or requesting email notification of posts, and those who have contributed comments.
It is slightly more than 12 months, 13 to be accurate, since I “moved up in the cyber world” and after some months as an author with “The Internet Post“, ventured into creating my own blog.
No world-beater response, given that there are millions of internet readers but, on the other hand, there are many tens of thousands (? more) sites providing information and offering their viewpoints on so many aspects of life.
It’s not a competition to gain more, or as much, following compared with another blog, but it is fulfilling to know that some purpose is being fulfilled.
My main ambition is to express myself and better understand who I am and what I stand for. If I had no readers at all, this is being achieved.
Reader comments add to the feeling of achievement, considerably, in fact, and they also enable criticism of my personal viewpoints if deemed necessary. This latter function is valuable because an individual lives primarily in one’s own world. Self-assessment, especially self-praise, is risky business.
Generally this issue is not critical, as I am generally supplementing or supporting some theme created and already published by others. To be on the wrong track is therefore less likely, or, if I am, so are many others.
So, why is it important to me to “put myself out there”? Probably it is providing some ego boosting required from a feeling of inadequacy in some way. To counter a feeling of not being appreciated in life’s normal spheres. Hopefully it is not a big deal.
In the space of 13 months I have published 635 posts and 95 pages on a variety of topics. Topics vary widely from mostly serious issues like the injustices of wars and other goings-on, world government domination and the like, health and survival issues right down up to arts and humour.
Can I change the world? Dream on Ken!. But I am having a go! And getting pleasure and fulfillment from a rewarding hobby and mission. Mission Impossible perhaps, a Quixotic ‘Tilting at Windmills’ perhaps, but surely a good cause and goal.
Despite my personal ambition being substantially fulfilled regardless, reader’s viewing and responding makes it so very much better. As of today, hits total 16,936 and approved comments total 925. A total of 73 followers does me proud! Thank You!
Anyway, a very sincere thank you to all readers, and especially the followers. Please feel free to be encouraged to be a part of this blog and my life. As Clint would say,”You make my day”, thank goodness for a very different reason.
